INCREASED MICRO-CIRCULATION AND BLOOD FLOW
Dry needling can increase blood flow to the muscles, tendons, ligaments, or joints which we are targeting. By increasing blood flow to the area, we can bring in more of the "good stuff" while also helping to get rid of the "bad stuff." Ultimately, this brings about reduced pain and increased healing.
INCREASED COLLAGEN PRODUCTION
Dry needling has been shown to increase collagen production. Collagen is the building block for tendons, muscles, ligaments and cartilage. By increasing collagen, we can accelerate the healing process after an injury to help get you back to doing what you love even faster!
ACTIVATES NEURAL PATHWAYS WHICH DECREASE PAIN
The nervous system is very complex and can work in funny ways when it comes to pain. Dry needling has been shown to stimulate the parts of your nervous system which can decrease pain signals to your brain.
STIMULATE ENDORPHIN PRODUCTION
Endorphins act as a natural painkiller. Dry needling can trigger the release of endorphins, leading to reduced perception of pain.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
Typically, you'll know if dry needling is effective for your situation within two to three treatments. It is common to notice subtle changes afer one session. Individual results will vary because we all have our own unique situations. For acute pain (i.e. injuries, sprains, strains, etc.) a typical course of treatment may be 2-4 weeks of twice-weekly sessions. For chronic pain (i.e. long-term back /neck pain or joint arthritis pain), treatment typically involves 2-4 weeks of twice-weekly sessions. If there's a positive response, we'll gradually reduce to weekly and then monthly maintenance sessions. While dry needling can be very effective, it should be just one piece of your pain relief puzzle.
